Mālaola Ground Breaking Ceremony

On November 2, 2014, we gathered together  Mālama Learning Center, Dupont Pioneer, Halau O Kaululaua'e and Kahu Sam Gon to bless our new garden. Kahu Gon chanted and blessed waters brought from all over Oahu which nourished our newly planted ti and plumeria tree. It was beautiful morning, our garden is ready to flourish!

Watch our garden grow... the Beginning!

Mahalo to DuPont Pioneer for allowing us the use of an acre of land to create a beautiful garden where we will grow plants that groups can gather from to make hula implements as well as use for laʻau lapaʻau.

We named our garden, Mālaola, meaning Living Garden.
Our keiki will learn to grow plants, that they will use while dancing. We will be growing our keiki as well as our garden,  watch as our garden comes to live and thrives!
